Matt Newman's post on "Whip It"

ATTENTION!.....

ATTENTION!.....

This is not your typical cliched sport movie. Let me explain.

Ellen Page, of "Juno," stars in this film directed and written by Drew Barrymore. Drew Barrymore also stars in this film.

"Whip It" can get your head spinning around and around in the roller derby. With amazing performances and direction you get the big picture. It goes round and round. The girls are skinny and beautiful but the fights on skates are something all together. Everything is thrown in th… Continue

Matt Newman's review on "Zombieland"

Who knows about "Shaun of the Dead," the british comedy with Simon Pegg and zombies? Well I was told from a friend of mine that he relates this film to it in some sort of significant way.

I believe that "Zombieland" has what it takes just to American-ize that film.

In this painstakingly comedy, I couldn't catch my breath. Non-stop from beginning to end. It was terrific...

Since I was taught to go into detail about writing critiques of films from Peter Grossi, my best friend for over 8 years,… Continue

Matt Newman's review on "Surrogates"

This film is based on the novel that I never knew anything about.

"Surrogates" with Bruce Willis, keeps us in mind of two familiar films. The storyline reminds us of "The Terminator" and "Eraser." I know that when you see it in the beginning, Bruce's character is young. After a while he gets tired of having a surrogate. It gets destroyed by, on what they call in the story, dreds.

As an FBI agent, he gets out there finding out what kind of weapon would mutilate the person and their surrogate at… Continue

Matthew Newman's review on Pandorum

If any of you have seen the "Alien" films, you probably know that this is copying off of that. In a way, it captures the environment to end up dark and more Gothic like. It is a horror story and isn't your typical Dennis Quaid hype.

It works like the way the creators made the Resident Evil movies but works in a different way.

"Pandorum" has its scares and Dennis Quaid doesn't really sound too annoying as others have critiqued him to be in "G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra." In this film it has its… Continue

Will The Film Industry Be Saved?

For a long time, Hollywood, California has been making films ever since the 1920’s. Motion picture arts has captured the lives of millions around the globe. In many cases, they have thrived on theory and criticism. High budget distributors and production companies have compiled adaptations of novels, novellas, comics, short stories and even already made suitable animations into reality. Tim Burton already has the corner marketed on that issue a dozen times in the films he has done. Taking from a… Continue
