Right off of the Prop 8 protests comes another long-anticipated film called "Milk," which follows the murder of California's first openly gay elected official, Harvey Milk, and the subsequent trial. Sean Penn does another excellent (possibly award-worthy) performance as Milk. This film, much like the aforementioned, is based on a true historical story in the 1970s.
