b>Jan. 11 CAFÉ CINEMATHEQUE INTERNATIONAL AT CINEMA PARADISO Cafe Cinematheque International, the popular monthly foreign film series hosted by film expert Shelly Isaacs, moves to Fort Lauderdale in January after being in Boca Raton and Miami. The first one will be Jan. 11, 2009. The event begins at 10 a.m. with complimentary coffee and pastries followed at 11 a.m. by the award-winning film from Italy, My Brother Is An Only Child, about two brothers who want to change the world but in completely different ways. A post-film discussion will be facilitated by Shelly Issacs, who teaches foreign language film appreciation from cultural and historical perspectives, at Florida International University, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
Cinema Paradiso is located at 503 SE 6 Street, Ft. Lauderdale. Parking is free in the Courthouse Parking Garage and at meters. General admission is $10, FLIFF Members $8. Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.FLIFF.com or via phone at 954-525-3456.
