Thank you for joining! If you have any questions, let me know. Are you looking to continue being in the biz yourself? How old are your kids? You or your kids may be interested in my new book "Basics of the Biz"-- now available on Amazon.com. I update this site all the time so check back frequently. In addition, check out my other site www.basicsofthebiz.blogspot.com, which has specific info. on being an actor!
Creativity and passion.I can offer marketing design to indie filmmakers ... posters, DVD covers etc. Wouldn't mind doing a little extra work again, now and then. I'd make an excellent crusty old guy.
Tell us about your experience:
I was in the theatah, a looong time ago. Been an extra on occasions. Got kids who've been/are in sho biz. Professionally, I am a graphic designer, illustrator, writer and cartoonist (Editorial cartoonist and columnist for the Palm Beach Daily News).
It seems I've always had performing arts on the periphery of my life, including: designing a marketing campaign for a FSU student film's festival run, some off-air art for Blue Period Productions, extra work on probably 75 percent of the episodes of B.L. Stryker, graphic design for the Burt Reynolds Dinner Theatre in Jupiter, pre-production concepts for a feature film (that I don't think ever got made), an actor in three original plays by Ira David Wood III, during the founding season of Theatre in the Park, Raliegh N.C. and Stage Director of The Diary of Anne Frank for my senior class play in high school.
My kids were brought up performing too. My daughter, Rain Willson, is currently an aerialist in San Francisco. She was in two equity plays, The Sound of Music and The Will Rogers Follies at the Jupiter Theatre and was also a Stryker extra on numerous occasions. She currently performs and trains others in San Francisco as an aerialist. My son, Adam Willson, had the featured extra role of Little Half-dead in the movie Illtown and recently mounted a cabaret at Think Coffee in the East Village, NYC.
Both of them went to the Alexander Dreyfus School of the Arts in Palm Beach County. Rain in Musical Theater and Adam in Communications. I also have adjudicated portfolios and taught art classes there.
My wife Kayla and still love doing a bit of extra work now and then, when it comes our way.
