An online magazine & social networking portal for the filmmaking community
About Us
Independent Streak, fondly called I.S., is an online
magazine and social networking portal for the filmmaking
community. The site is updated daily and features director and
actor profiles, information, new and tips on the industry,
castings, articles, film festival and contest news and more. It
also is a social networking portal, such as a MySpace or
Facebook, except it is dedicated strictly to people within the
industry. You can create your own website, add pics and video and
blog about your filmmaking exploits.
Mission
The mission of I.S. is to provide more much-needed exposure for independent filmmakers and local South Florida actors and to provide information that can help locals go out and create a bigger and better industry right here in our own backyard. I.S. also provides some information that is nationwide and does draw people from all over the world who read the information written here and check the websites of our members.

FREQUENT CONTRIBUTORS
Dave Montalbano

Known as "Cinema Dave," this mild mannered reporter has been a film critic for the area for many years; including at the Deerfield Observer, where he has had his own column for nine years. His day job is for Broward Public Libraries in the AV Department. When not working, Montalbano might be watching a John Wayne or Lon Chaney movie or scribing his next column. This journalist and film fan has a love for the common man and for America; he personifies a kind of everyman patriotism and kindness of spirit not seen since yesteryear. In a word, he is a true gentlemen and I.S. is proud to have him as a contributor to its pages. For more information, visit Dave's Member Page or his own site: http://cinemadave.livejournal.com/.
